OAL Public Service Announcement FAQ

Information about the public service announcements displayed at the Open Access Labs.

Here are answers to a few common questions asked about public service announcements (PSA) at the Open Access Labs.

Q: What is a PSA?

A: PSA is a Public Service Announcement. It is simply a graphic that you would like displayed on the more than 1,200 machines available in the six Open Access Labs.

Q: How do I submit a PSA?

A: It's easy! Go to the OAL Public Service Announcement Request page at http://oalinfo.tamu.edu/tools/screensaver/ and read the guidelines. If you meet all of these guidelines, then select your image and carefully follow the directions on each consecutive page. You will receive a tracking number at the end of the procedure, as well as a link to go to check the status of your submittal.

Q: How do I know if I qualify to submit a PSA?

A: You must belong to an organization that is recognized by the Department of Student Activities as a campus student group, or an official Texas A&M department.

Q: Will you change/edit/create my PSA graphic for me?

A: No, we will not edit or change any content of your PSA. Simply put, if you want something in the PSA (text, etc.), it must be in the graphic when you submit it. If the PSA does not meet the guidelines, it will be rejected.

Q: Where can I get help making a PSA graphic?

A: The lab staff in the Open Access Labs will help you with creating a PSA. Go to http://cis.tamu.edu/oal/labs/ for lab locations. Click the Lab Hours link on the left side page for hours of operation.

Q: If I need to retract or stop running my PSA early, how do I do this?

A: The lab staff in the Open Access Labs can open a problem slip for you and request the removal. Be advised that if the PSA is already running, it may take 24 to 48 hours for it to be removed.
