IP Printing Through Windows 7
This information describes how to connect to the IPP print queues from Open Access Lab machines, dorms or through VPN. This method of printing is the replacement for XPrint for the Math Labs. Currently, IPP printing is only supported in the Blocker, SCC, WCL and LIBANX computer labs. Only black and white, letter size printing is available.
Introduction
This information describes how to connect to the IPP print queues from Open Access Lab machines, dorms or through VPN. This method of printing is the replacement for XPrint for the Math Labs. Currently, IPP printing is only supported in the Blocker, SCC, WCL and LIBANX computer labs. Only black and white, letter size printing is available.
Note: Math Labs already have a custom, internal method of printing to these IPP print queues.
Mapping the IP Printer
The connection strings for the IPP print queues are (case sensitive):
Before going through the steps of adding an IPP print queue, you must first obtain a compatible Xerox print driver:
Obtaining the Correct Printer Driver
Go to http://www.xerox.com.
Click the “Support & Drivers” link at the top of the page.
In the “Select Product Type” section, select “Black & White Printers”.
In the “Select Product Family” section, select “DocuPrint”.
Scroll down until you find “DocuPrint 90” and click the “Drivers & Downloads” link.
Select a Windows XP driver to a download. Unpack or install the driver you downloaded.
Adding IPP print queue using Windows 7:
1. Open your Devices and Printers directory on your computer: Windows Icon->Devices and Printers.
2. Right-click in open area and select “Add a printer”:

3. When the Add Printer dialog box pops up, click “Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer”:

4. In the next screen, just click “The printer that I want isn’t listed”:

5. In the next screen, type in the string of the IPP print queue you wish to connect to and click “Next”:

6. When the Enter Network Password dialog box pops up, enter in your NetID@continuum.tamu.edu and password and click “OK”:

7. In the next screen, you will be asked to select a driver:

8. If you have a compatible Xerox driver already installed (Xerox DocuPrint 65/75/90), select that driver and click “OK”. Skip to step #12.
9. If you do not have a compatible Xerox printer driver already installed, click “Have Disk…”.
Click “Browse” and locate the driver you downloaded and unpacked earlier. Click “OK” once you have located the printer driver:

Under “Printers”, scroll down and select “Xerox DocuPrint 90” and click “OK”:

If this screen pops-up, click “Install this driver software anyway”:

Click “Next” on the next screen:

Then click “Finish”:

The printer you added will now be listed in your Devices and Printers directory:
